The soloists of the Ravel Academy follow in the footsteps of an unparalleled virtuoso, known not only for having been a dear friend and musical mentor to Maurice Ravel, but also for much more: the Spanish pianist Ricardo Viñes was the tireless creator or dedicatee of a wealth of major scores of his time, from Claude Debussy’s Images to Manuel de Falla’s Nights in the Gardens of Spain.
