Shinyoung Lee

Shinyoung Lee (b. 1997) began studying piano at the age of five. From 2009 to 2012, she trained with Prof. Jaemi Kim at the Young Musicians Academy of Konkuk University, supported by a scholarship from the city of Seoul, and attended Sunhwa Arts Middle School.

Shinyoung Lee has received numerous international awards. In 2023, Shinyoung Lee won 1st Prize and the Audience Prize at the Campillos International Piano Competition and 2nd Prize at the Madrid International Piano Competition (with no 1st Prize awarded). In 2025, Shinyoung Lee won 1st Prize at the ClaMo International Piano Competition in Murcia and 3rd Prize at the Concours Lalla Meryem in Morocco. Earlier prizes include 1st Prizes at Jugend Musiziert, Die Jungen Besten im Norden, and the International Piano Competition Città di Treviso, as well as a special prize at the Tallinn International Piano Competition.

Shinyoung Lee has worked in masterclasses with Dame Imogen Cooper, Elisso Virsaladze, Maria João Pires, and Vladimir Feltsman, and Shinyoung Lee is an active chamber musician across Europe.

As a soloist, Shinyoung Lee has performed at the Auditorio Nacional de Música in Madrid, the Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona, and the Mariinsky Theatre Concert Hall in St. Petersburg, and Shinyoung Lee has appeared with the Málaga Symphony Orchestra, Cyprus Symphony Orchestra, Norddeutsche Philharmonie Rostock, and Orquesta Sinfónica de la Región de Murcia. In 2016, Shinyoung Lee recorded for NDR Radio in Hamburg.

Shinyoung Lee studied with Prof. Matthias Kirschnereit in Rostock and Prof. Antti Siirala in Munich. Shinyoung Lee currently studies at the Reina Sofía School of Music in Madrid with Prof. Milana Chernyavska and Prof. Claudio Martínez Mehner.
