January – Young soloists from the Academy on stage
The Ravel Academy is renewing three winter partnerships showcasing young soloists from its latest sessions. Head to Charente, Gironde, and Landes to (re)discover these must-see young instrumentalists!
Festival d’hiver de La Rochefoucauld
The result of a partnership between the Hardièse association and the Ravel Academy, La Rochefoucauld Winter Festival (16) returns from January 16 to 18 for its fourth edition, which will celebrate the 150th anniversary of Manuel de Falla.
Three young soloists from the academy will be performing: pianists Laure Cholé and Ionah Maiatsky, and violinist Élise Bertrand. Cellist Xavier Gagnepain completes the event’s lineup.
Concert de Poche
The Ravel Academy is partnering for the second time with Les Concerts de Poche, an association that closely combines concerts and cultural outreach to foster social ties and introduce classical music to as many people as possible. On Saturday, January 17, in Saucats (33), Élise Bertrand and Marina Saiki will perform major works from the violin and piano repertoire.
As part of the project, pianist Marina Saiki will lead workshops focused on creation, interpretation, and improvisation with residents of Saucats and Saint-Selve ahead of the concert. Writing and choral singing workshops have also been offered to students in Saint-Selve and children at the Saucats recreation center since September: the pieces prepared will be presented at the start of the concert, accompanied by the two concert artists.
Mélomanes Côte Sud
For many years, young artists from the Ravel Academy have been performing as part of the Mélomanes Côte Sud association’s artistic season. On Sunday, January 18, in Capbreton (40), discover a unique flute-clarinet duo featuring two young artists from the new wind instrument classes at the 2025 Ravel Academy: Federico Altare and Megumi Ozawa.
