Spain, a welcoming land: Domenico Scarlatti and Luigi Boccherini spent most of their careers there; as for Joseph Haydn, he composed one of his most original masterpieces, The Seven Last Words of Christ on the Cross, for the Church of Cádiz. The Orchestre des Champs-Élysées, Nicolas Altstaedt, and Anna-Lena Elbert retrace these Iberian odysseys, which range from the rhythms of the fandango to the darkness of an earthquake.
