Traditional Klezmer and Romanian music
The program focuses on instrumental melodies of lullabies and traditional songs echoing those of Ravel, based on repertoire that is mainly Yiddish, but also Romanian and Hebrew. It also includes Klezmer and Romanian instrumental pieces, some of which evoke key moments in the Ashkenazi wedding ritual. Most of the melodies are instrumental, but some are sung, and a short poem in Yiddish and French will be declaimed, so that the Yiddish language can be heard.
