Shinobu Tanaka, born in Japan, began her musical studies at the age of 3. She obtained her master’s degree in music education from Hiroshima University and won third prize at the Japan Classical Music Competition in 1999. In Japan, she performed as a soloist with orchestras, but passionate about chamber music, she moved to Paris in 2003 to work with Théodore Paraskivesco, Haruko Ueda, and Jean-Jacques Kantorow.
In France, she studied at the CRD in Gennevilliers, where she was awarded first prize in piano with honors and first prize in chamber music with honors and the jury’s congratulations. She has also won awards at international competitions, notably first prize at the Concours Musical de France (four-hand piano) in 2005.
Since 2013, she has been an accompanist for MusicAlp (the international music academy) and Saline Royale Academy since 2020. She gives chamber music concerts, notably with many well-known clarinetists, and was the official accompanist for the Geneva Competition (clarinet) in 2018.
She is also passionate about contemporary music and performs in concert with the Ensemble 2e2m and the Ensemble Court-Circuit.
She taught piano at the CRD in Gennevilliers from 2010 to 2021, worked as an accompanist at the CRD in Gennevilliers from 2005 to 2021 and at the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris from 2010 to 2021.
She currently works as an accompanist at international competitions and masterclasses in Japan and France and performs in chamber music concerts with international musicians.
