Paul-Marie Kuzma

Paul-Marie Kuzma began playing the cello at the age of 6 at the Conservatoire de Saint-Cloud under the guidance of Thérèse Pollet.
He then entered the Conservatoire Régional de Boulogne-Billancourt in 2008 in Pascale Michaca’s class, before joining Xavier Gagnepain’s class, which awakened in him a deep love for chamber music.

After a year of advanced study with Cyrille Lacrouts, he was unanimously admitted to the Paris Conservatoire (CNSMDP) in Jérôme Pernoo’s class, where he performed as a soloist and in cello ensembles in several international venues (Salle Cortot, Radio France, The National Library Arts Centre of Beijing, etc.). In 2018, he won the international ‘Tremplin’ competition and has been participating in the Radio France Philharmonic Orchestra Academy since 2019.

For several years now, Paul-Marie Kuzma has been playing regularly with his piano partner Ionah Maiatsky, with whom he obtained a bachelor’s degree in chamber music in 2020 at the CNSMDP, and with whom he is now pursuing a master’s degree in chamber music under the guidance of several masters, including Claire Désert, Itamar Golan, Jonas Vitaud, the Ébène Quartet and François Salque. He completed his cello studies at the Conservatoire with honours and joined the Orchestre de Paris in 2021.
