A student of Rachel Yakar at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, French soprano Patricia Petibon was discovered by William Christie.
Her repertoire ranges from Baroque to contemporary music, including Mozart, Donizetti and Verdi. Since her debut at the Paris national opera in Hippolyte et Aricie (l’Amour), she has gone on to perform the great Baroque roles such as Ginevra (Ariodante) at the Grand Théâtre de Genève, Morgana (Alcina) at La Scala in Milan and the title role of Alcina at the Aix-en-Provence Festival.
She also played Despina (Così fan tutte) at the Salzburg Festival, Giunia (Lucio Silla) at the Vienna Staatsoper, the title role of Lulu in Geneva, Barcelona and Salzburg, Aspasia (Mitridate) in Vienna, Munich and Paris (Théâtre des Champs-Élysées), Susanna (The Marriage of Figaro) at the Aix-en-Provence Festival, Olympia (Les Contes d’Hoffmann) and Donna Anna (Don Giovanni) at Paris national opera, Blanche de La Force (Dialogues des carmélites) at Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Vienna Staatsoper and La Monnaie de Bruxelles, Manon in Vienna, Geneva and Opéra Comique, Mélisande (Pelléas et Mélisande) at Théâtre des Champs-Elysées.
She takes part in the premiere of Au monde by Philippe Boesmans at La Monnaie in Brussels. She made her debut as Violetta (La Traviata) in 2018 in Malmö, and sang all four female leads in Les Contes d’Hoffmann for the first time in Brussels in 2019.
Her discography encompasses numerous titles, including the albums Nouveau Monde, La Belle Excentrique and L’Amour, la mort, la mer.
