Marine Chagnon

Marine Chagnon, nominated in the Lyric Revelation category at the 2023 Victoires de la Musique Classique awards, is a French mezzo-soprano with an eclectic career path.

Initially trained in modern jazz dance and dramatic art, Dijon mezzo-soprano Marine Chagnon graduated with a master’s degree from the CNSMD in Paris, in the class of Elene Golgevit.

She then entered the Académie de l’Opéra de Paris, and won the AROP and Carpeaux awards, as well as the Special Jury Prize at the Canari Competition, before being nominated in the Lyric Revelation category at the 2023 Victoires de la Musique Classique awards.

After an early career focused on early music (La Giuditta, role title at the Grange au Lac and the Louvre Auditorium; Poppea at the Dijon Opera/Theâtre de l’Athénée, etc.), Marine joined the Paris Opera Troupe for the 23/24 season. She took part in six productions, making her debut as Zerlina (Don Giovanni, Mozart at Bastille), and L’Enfant (L’Enfant et les Sortilèges, Ravel, Palais Garnier).

Her first roles led her to perform in such fine venues as the Opéra National de Bordeaux, the Opéra National de Lorraine, the Philharmonie de Paris, the Opéra de Vichy and the Théâtre du Châtelet.

She records her first CD -Ljus- with pianist Joséphine Ambroselli on the MIRARE label.

In the 24-25 season, she continued her operatic career with the Troupe de l’Opéra de Paris, including the role of Thibault in Don Carlos. A new recital program, Moving Songs, is created at the Opéra de Dijon, again with pianist Joséphine Ambroselli.

Next year, Marine will appear at the Opéra de Versailles, the Opéra national de Bordeaux and La Scala in Milan, making her debut at this iconic venue.
