Iris Scialom

Iris Scialom is a laureate of the Violin Masters of Monte-Carlo – Prince Rainier III Prize, the Banque Populaire Foundation, ADAMI Talent 2024, the Gautier Capuçon Foundation, the Académie de Villecroze, the Académie Ravel (2019 and 2021), the Violons de l’Espoir, and the International Tibor Junior and Mirecourt Competitions. During the Tibor Junior Competition, she had the opportunity to perform with Gidon Kremer, and at Mirecourt, she played Brahms’ concerto at the Salle Poirel.

After earning her Artist Diploma at the Conservatoire de Paris in the class of Stéphanie-Marie Degand—where she had the chance to perform the Sibelius Concerto at the Cité de la Musique in Paris—she was invited to the Opéra de Tours to play the same concerto as well as Mozart’s Fifth, to the Salle Gaveau for Brahms’ Concerto, and to the Opéra de Rouen for Mozart’s Fourth. Iris has also appeared as a soloist at the Seine Musicale with the Ensemble Appassionato and the Orchestre du Palais Royal, as well as with the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra in Kronberg.

A highly regarded chamber musician, she has performed with Mihaela Martin, Nobuko Imai, Claire Désert, François Salque, Frans Helmerson, Philippe Jaroussky, Laurent Naouri, and others. She also forms a duo (Arborescence) with the young and brilliant pianist Antonin Bonnet, whose playing “brings a wonderful poetic thrill to the music” (Alain Cochard, Concertclassic). Together, they have won awards at prestigious chamber music competitions, notably in Rome and Vilnius. They earned their Master’s degree in chamber music at the CNSMDP with highest honors and unanimous congratulations from the jury in the classes of Claire Désert and François Salque.

The duo has already performed at La Roque d’Anthéron, Les Folles Journées in Nantes and Tokyo 2024, and recently recorded their debut album dedicated to Fauré, Ravel, and Enescu with Scala Music. They are the first duo to be in residence at the Fondation Singer-Polignac.

Iris plays a 1773 Guadagnini violin, generously loaned by Diane du Saillant.
