Shuyu Yang

Shuyu Yang, a Taiwanese flutist, graduated in 2025 with a Master’s degree in Flute from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Lyon, receiving the highest distinction from the jury. She is currently pursuing a Konzertexamen at the Hochschule für Musik Saar in Germany. In 2024, she also joined the Orchestre de Paris Academy under the direction of Klaus Mäkelä.

After studying at the Affiliated Senior High School of National Taiwan Normal University, Shuyu Yang continued her training in 2019 at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Paris in the class of Frédéric Chatoux. The following year, she was admitted to the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Lyon, where she studied with Julien Beaudiment, Emmanuelle Réville and Gilles Cottin.

Alongside her studies, Shuyu Yang has developed an active orchestral career. She has been a member of the Orchestre de Paris Academy and has performed with the Opéra de Lyon, the Orchestre National de Lyon, the Asian Modern Symphony Orchestra, the Taiwan Connection Chamber Orchestra, and the Württembergische Kammerorchester Heilbronn.

A prizewinner of several international competitions, including the Biwako International Flute Competition and the Taiwan International Flute Competition, Shuyu Yang has also received scholarships from the Société Générale Corporate Foundation and the Nguyen-Thien Dao Foundation.

Passionate about chamber music, Shuyu Yang is a founding member of the Trio Doroné. She has also taken part in numerous masterclasses with Emmanuel Pahud, Emily Beynon, Sophie Cherrier, Philippe Bernold, Pascale Feuvrier, Andrea Lieberknecht, Walter Auer, Michel Bellavance, Roswitha Taege, Vincent Lucas, Carol Wincenc, Loïc Schneider, Petri Alanko and Raphael Leone.
