Académie Ravel 2026 – Key dates
Under Bertrand Chamayou’s artistic leadership, the 56th session of the Académie Ravel will take place from August 17 to 30 2026 in Saint-Jean-de-Luz, in the Basque country, the composer’s native land.
The academy offers classes in piano, violin, viola, cello, chamber music, flute, clarinet, vocal studies and composition – all directed by prestigious masters.
Below are the key dates and deadlines you need to know to prepare and submit your application.
-> The teachers will be announced by the end of February.
-> All information and application details will be available on our website from March 13.
-> The call for applications will be open from March 13 to May 10, 2026 (deadline).
-> The selection will be announced to applicants in early June 2026.
2026 Composition Academy – Call for application
Application deadline: Sunday, February 15, 2026
The Académie Ravel is looking for five emerging composers to participate in the fifth edition of its Composition Academy.
The academy will be led by Spanish composer Hèctor Parra and will be held as part of the Académie Ravel 2026 from August 17 to 30 in Saint-Jean-de-Luz.
The composers selected will have the opportunity to be mentored by an outstanding teaching team, to enrich themselves through meeting and working with other high level composers and performers from around the world, and to have their works performed publicly and presented to a prestigious jury during the composition competition concluding the Academy.
The winner will receive a paid commission for the Festival Ravel 2027, accompanied by a publication by Durand-Salabert-Eschig.
