Académie Ravel 2025 – Program
Over the course of its 50 years of existence marked by the arrival of the greatest masters, the Académie Ravel has accompanied several generations of young musicians who are now at the top. It is now an integral part of the Festival Ravel project.
Under Bertrand Chamayou’s artistic leadership, the 55th session of the Académie Ravel will take place from August 18 to 31 in Saint-Jean-de-Luz.
Based in Saint-Jean-de-Luz Peyuco Duhart Cultural center, the academy brings together prestigious teachers and 40 young artists from all over the world.
In 2025, the Académie Ravel adds two new classes, flute and clarinet, led by two great French soloists: Sophie Cherrier and Nicolas Baldeyrou.
Through public masterclasses, the great international masters of classical music will share their knowledge, their demands and their vision with young artists: a unique opportunity to plunge into the heart of artistic transmission at the highest level. The young soloists will also showcase their work in open stages. Moments of exchange, exploration and interpretation, these sessions offer a privileged insight into the artistic development of young talent.
The composition class competition will showcase original works by five young composers, before an exceptional closing evening.
Last but not least, students from this session and from previous editions will perform alongside international artists as part of the Festival Ravel 2025.
